Please make sure you read and fully understand these booking terms and conditions. If anything is unclear, please contact us so we can explain in further detail to avoid any misunderstandings. When you make a booking, you are agreeing to these terms and conditions.
Booking Contract
Once you (the guest) have paid the deposit and have received a booking confirmation from us (the owners) then a contract will come into existence. This contract binds you and all the members of your party. You must ensure that all members of your party accept the terms of the contract set out in these terms and conditions of booking. If you fail to disclose all relevant information or you do not comply with these terms, this may lead to termination of the contract & loss of the booking.
Only those people listed on the booking form can occupy the property. The number of people staying in the property must not exceed 14 and there should be no parties or events. We reserve the right to terminate the booking without notice and without refund in case of a breach of this condition.
You may in no circumstance re-let or sublet the property, even free of charge.
Bookings cannot be accepted from persons under eighteen years of age. We reserve the right to refuse a booking without giving any reason.
Payments
A non-refundable 20% deposit of the holiday cost is payable at the time of booking. Bookings made less than four weeks before your arrival date must be paid in full. The balance must be paid no later than four weeks before the commencement of your holiday. You will also be asked to pay a €500 refundable damage deposit at the same time as the balance. If the balance is not received by the due date, then your holiday will be treated as a cancellation and you will remain liable to pay the balance of the rent.
Cancellations
All cancellations must be notified in writing. If you cancel your holiday more than 4 weeks before it is due to start, then we will retain your deposit but will waive the 80% balance. If you cancel less than 4 weeks before the holiday, then the full balance remains due and is not refundable. We strongly advise that you take out comprehensive travel insurance to cover cancellations and any unexpected costs. If you choose not to, then you accept responsibility for any loss that you may incur due to your cancellation.
We will not cancel your booking except in exceptional circumstances beyond our control. We will notify you of the cancellation as soon as possible and we will promptly refund all payments made for your holiday. Our liability for cancellation will be limited to payments made to us.
Arrivals and Departures
You may arrive at the property at 5pm on the first day of your booking, (unless otherwise agreed) and you are required to vacate the property by 10:00 am on the day of departure. This allows time for us to prepare for incoming guests and deep clean the property in accordance with Covid19 guidelines. We reserve the right to make a charge to cover additional cleaning costs if you leave the property in an unacceptable condition.
Pets / Smoking
Pets are not allowed anywhere on the property so please do not bring them. Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the property, either inside or outside, and will result in immediate termination of occupancy and forfeiture of all payments. This must be strictly adhered to and any damage or extra cleaning caused by pets or smoking will be at your expense.
Damage Deposit
In making a booking you accept responsibility for any theft, breakage or damage caused by you, or any member of your party and agree to indemnify us in full for any loss that we may incur as a result. A security deposit of €500 is required and will be returned within 7 days of the end of your holiday, less the cost of damage/breakages/missing items.
L’Abri Tranquille is our home and we ask that you treat the facilities & accommodation with the same care that you would your own home, so that we and other guests may continue to enjoy them. If you notice something is missing or damaged in your accommodation, please let us know immediately so that we can take the appropriate action. If there have been any breakages or damage during your stay, we would be grateful if you could report them promptly, especially before check-out. The accommodation will be inspected at the end of the holiday & you may be charged for any loss or damage.
Pool
The pool is for your exclusive use but please supervise children and behave responsibly. You are responsible for the safety and security of your children at all times. Never leave children without adult supervision. We will come a couple of times per week in the morning to clean and maintain the pool but will not intrude. Please use the pool towels provided (and not the bath towels) and do not take glass bottles or drinks into the pool area. A shower is provided for you to rinse off creams and makeup etc before getting into the water.
Keys
There is one set of keys per building which are in a keysafe attached to the outside wall. Please note that if any keys issued are not returned at the end of your stay, then the cost of replacement will be charged to you.
Toilets
All of the waste from the property is collected in a septic tank. This is quite a delicate system and therefore it is essential that nothing is put into the toilets apart from toilet paper. If the septic tank is blocked it can prove costly, not to mention unpleasant!
