The Pool and Grounds
The stunning swimming pool is a roomy 12m x 6m. There is space for everyone to relax around the pool on the plentiful loungers and chairs. There are parasols for when the sun gets too hot! Regulations demand that the pool is alarmed for your safety. You simply deactivate the alarm when you wish to swim. The pool is just under a metre deep at the shallow end but gets over 2m deep at the deep end, so please supervise non-swimmers.
The garden offers a huge space for playing (we provide badminton, croquet, boules) or for simply appreciating the view. It opens out into a paddock with a small, newly planted vineyard. Feel free to wander through the garden and paddock but remember some places are a little untamed, so very small children should be accompanied. You may be lucky enough to see a red squirrel or a deer which often wander into the paddock. Alternatively, you may prefer to sit under one of the many shady trees - the heat can be intense, and don't forget to help yourself to some fresh produce from the organic veg patch. Tomatoes taste so good here!
Stargazers will be in celestial bliss as the nightskies enjoy virtually no light pollution. The Milky Way is unmistakeably visible and in August you will see shooting stars galore.
The pergola covered decking is the perfect spot to enjoy long, lazy lunches or delicious, alfresco dinners (after apéros on the balcony?) Charming views of the unspoiled, french countryside, plenty of room around the table and a charcoal barbecue to make cooking simple - it's what holidays are all about.
